(2/7) Mardi Gras Comes Early to DC When Kermit Ruffins Brings The NOLAFunk Party to The Howard Theatre

Thursday, February 7th at The Howard is gonna swing like Fat Tuesday, thanks to Kermit Ruffins’ NOLAFunk Party, featuring his BBQ Swingers, Stooges Brass Band, and The Main Squeeze. Kermit Ruffins is a New Orleans Native who has spent the past three decades performing the good-time bluesy jazz of the crescent city, singing with a gravely voice and soaring with his melodic trumpet. His sweat inducing performances and 10 dynamic records led to Ruffins’ recent casting as himself on HBO’s critically acclaimed Treme, a drama that examines New Orleans’ recovery in aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

If you love good music and can’t get to New Orleans for the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras, bring your tambourines and whistles to The NOLAFunk Party at The Howard Theatre, where Kermit Ruffins and The BBQ-Swingers will serve up your spirits in the right light.
