All-Star Purple Party is a special tribute concert celebrating the birthday of Prince, one of the greatest musical artists of our time who would be 60 on June 7th. The concert features an all-star band performing Prince's most popular songs "Purple Rain", "Let's Go Crazy", "When Doves Cry", "Kiss", "1999", "Little Red Corvette", "Sign Of The Times", "I Wanna Be Your Lover", "Do Me Baby", "Adore" and many more. We welcome Prince fans and everybody who enjoys a good party to join us for a memorable evening of music that will inspire you to sing along and dance all night!
Performing as Prince is outstanding lead singer Junie Henderson whose dazzling vocals and commanding stage presence capture the spirit of Prince's electrifying performances. Henderson is one of the DC area's most talented singers who is best known as featured singer with the popular local band E.U. (Experience Unlimited) on the classic #4 R&B hit "Taste of Your Love." With E.U., Henderson has performed on tour around the world, appeared in the Spike Lee film "School Daze", in music videos on MTV and BET, and on national television shows including Soul Train, Arsenio Hall and Showtime At The Apollo.
The all-star band is headlined by Greg Boyer, a master trombonist who recorded and toured with Prince as member of New Power Generation, and has also performed with Parliament-Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker and Chuck Brown. The band is led by brothers Gary Grainger on bass and Greg Grainger on drums, best known with the R&B band Pockets which had a top 20 R&B hit "Come Go With Me" produced by Maurice and Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire.
